Blistered

Ugh after a battle with burn, blisters and peeling. . . I think I am on the mend. Most of the blisters have dried up and are flaking off. My skin is tender and itchy. I take that as a sign of healing. I will be bathing in sunblock in California.

Loves

Cuddle buddies.
Tonight we found out some background on our little Boston. A week ago Sunday he was transported from New Mexico to Salt Lake. New Mexico has a very high kill rate and SLC had room  to take some in. Boston was saved and brought over with some others. Monday after he arrived he was vacinated and nutered. Then a few days later they came down here for the Super Pet Adoption. This little guy is 1.5 lbs under weight. He is a trooper for all he's been through. You can tell he is just so happy to be loved. Jaxan can't wait for him to get better. She wants him to sleep in her room.
Also good news for the dog that came over for a meet and greet got adopted. Amber, a girl I work with, adopted him. He was a great fit for her family.

M-I-C-K-E-Y MOUSE

I found a tutorial online how to make these cute ears. I was gonna make 4 but Q wasn't a fan. So I made them for the kids. They turned out way cute. Can't wait to surprise them.

Sickies

Well it started with Becks having red eyes. I thought he had pink eye, but come to find out he just had a viral infection. We let it run its course. Green snot and all. Then Q got it, and it's turned into bronchitis. Then Saturday night Boston started reverse sneezes. Then Sunday all 3 of them were still feeling yucky. Yesterday Q started on meds, Beckham was doing better, and Boston was worse. Today Boston went to the vet. He has kennel cough, so he has started on meds today. Sabaka is getting vaccinated tomorrow. Here's to hoping us girls don't get it.

Trimester Two

I know it sounds horrible, but I have NO desire to post any pictures of this pregnacy. I think because I look more "fat" than I do pregnant. I was feeling good until Saturday afternoon. I think I way over did it and the heat on top of it - I was sick Satuday night. Didn't feel to hot yesterday and today I feel crummy. I can push through it, but I could just lay and sleep for the next 6 months and be okay with it. An induced coma would be awesome. NG tube, IV fluid and 6 months of sleep.... where can I sign up. I am hoping a little vacation will help out and I will be feeling better in no time.

Boston

So our dog history is rather long in the last 18 months. I met Q and he had Sabaka . When he was living in his studio apt Sabaka had a friend Sugar that he could play with. When we moved, I wanted to get him a buddy. So we found Harley. Not a great fit for our garden or carpet. She was ment to be a kennel hunting dog. So then we got Alpine. Thought we could love her into not being afraid. Though loyal to us, she wasn't fixed or loyal to Sabaka. He has scars to prove it. Bad luck! We waited and found Atlas. Oh what a jewel. He was loving and he and Sabaka were best buddies. He has some separation issues and was 60 pounds of pup and growing. The landlord was not a fan of pits and so he found his way to Idaho with a great and loving family. We've all missed him, especially Sabaka. So after 2 cats staying at our old house and 3 dogs finding their way to New homes, and 2 snakes dying - I was done. We could do with 9 chickens, 2 ferrets, Sabaka, 2 "come wit the house" kitties, and 2 lizards.
Then the other day I got thinking how much I missed Dallas and Blu. They were such awesome kitties and loved us. I loved how they would snuggle at night on our feet. So I talked to Q. He didn't want a cat again. At least not in the house. Dang! So, what about a little dog? I have never been fond of little dogs. They bark and yip and bounce all over. Yuck. So we started looking. Nothing seemed like a right fit. BAM even brought over a pup to meet and greet. It bit me and peed on our wall. Ugh. So Pet Smart was having their big pet adoption. Hmmmmm. I did research and found there would be female puppies there. Chihuawas. Okay so I headed over after work on Friday. All the pup I'd looked at online were adopted. Good for them bummer for me. I thought, it was meant to be. We don't really need another pet. I walked around looking at the dogs and saying hi to our friends at HART. I went back to the SLCAS area. I asked the guy what they had as far as little pups. He said most have been adopted. The showed me a crate and said that this little guy, Blair, hadn't been. He was one and house broke. Nutered and microchipped. I asked to hold him. He snuggled right down into me and I was sold. He's not had one accident, and already he and Sabaka are buddies. He loves to snuggle and doesn't bark. He's a great fit and we all just love him. He's full grown so the tiny package is what we get. We changed his name to Boston. We know that we are his hope and his rescue family. He's our forever pup!

10 days and 30 years

I found these pictures of my first trip to Disneyland. My great aunt merna lived in a trailer park where the mighty ducks stadium is now. Small world still looks the same.

Our Home

I love our little tucked away home. Our circle drive is big enough the kids can ride and play safely and I don't have to worry about them. Its getting very warm and the kids love it. The warm weather also means garden growth.... What hasn't already frozen. I think it will be ok and we should have great produce.

Summer Bummer

I am SO not ready for heat. I hate it. Can't it just be 70 all the time?

Things our kids won't get to see....

It was another morning of Disney music on the way to work. The Main Street Electrical Parade song came on with the introduction and all. Jaxan asked what that song was. I was trying to explain the parade they used to have at Disneyland to Jaxan. She wasn't getting why there would be a parade in the dark. You couldn't see the princesses faces if it was dark. I told her that back then there weren't that many princesses. She just laughed. It got me thinking how our kids won't enjoy the same Disneyland we did. The orange groves and strawberry fields right next to the park. There was no downtown disney, there was no california adventure.... What will they think of next!?!

2 Weeks!

I am so EXCITED! Jaxi and I were singing "It's A Small World" this morning on our way to town. She asked if I remembered the ride at Disneyland that sang this song. Of course I do! How could you forget. Its such a nostalgic ride.

Patriot Guard and Earth Day Ride

Yesterday morning was the Patriot Guard Ride. The proceeds went to the new Veteran's Home in Ivins. Q and I, along with all our friends, had decided that the ride to Bryce was a little too much. We wanted to do something more local. I had put the music together for the event, so I asked everyone to join us at the send off. Mika sang the National Anthem and it was beautiful, as always. The vet's couldn't have got any luckier.

No one presents the colors like the United States Marines. I have seen it done by every other branch and there is no one that looks better, sharper, more professional, or more patriotic than the USMC.

Mayor McArthur was there and quoted the 4th verse of the Star Spangled Banner. Then a beautiful tribute to all the military branches was preformed by the Pine View High School band.

Our bike wasn't in the pic and neither was Dom's. Not colorful enough.

Taken over the town! We headed out to Springdale. The weather was gorgeous. Paul and Robyn wanted to swing by the general store in Virgin. We stopped there and hung for a bit. My tummy was rumbling so loud I almost mistook it for the farting indian.

AMAZING lunch at the Majestic View. We were the only ones in there. Everyone said their food was awesome. I got the philly, but it wasn't just a normal philly. It had prime rib, peppers, onions, bacon, cheese, mushrooms and chipolte sauce. YUM!

We are so lucky to live with this in our back yard!

Robyn and Paul had to to head back to take Brooklyn to soccer and the kite festival. The rest of us rode into Springdale and went to the Earth Day Party! It was awesome. I love the live music and the hippies. I love how open minded the town in and how everyone just gets together to embrace any celebration.

We went to the gas station to get air in our shocks.... damn Harley Davidson.... and Ali pointed out a run away umbrella. That is not just a little kids umbrella. That is a table umbrella floating higher and higher and higher. We watched it for about 20 min. It came down on the hill behind the gas station.

It was a gorgeous day. I got a lot of sun. I was craving Chilis, and Dom and Sharon wanted to go to road house. I love their Chicken Fried Steak, so it was a win either way. I called ahead to see what the seating would be for 6, Jason and Ali were meeting us too, and they told me they couldn't seat us til 8. Chili's it was.

Boston

Our hearts are with you Boston. I will never understand anyone's desire to hurt someone. I will never comprehend how someone can walk among celebrators and destroy their lives. I have a heavy heart that my children will grow up in such an evil world. I pray that they will always know love and peace and there is so much more after this life.

Visitor

We had a visitor in our room last night.

Second Dr Appt

Today was my first doctors appointment with Dr Lunt, and second doctors appointment this pregnancy. I just absolutely love him. He makes pregnancy so much easier. Any fears, worries or concerns that I walk in with, he calms. He makes it look so easy. I heard the little heartbeat - 153 bpm. That has me leaning toward a boy, but I don't have any real strong personal or emotional feeling. Q is hoping boy all the way. I am hungry for anything full of salt.... not good I know. I love hot dogs, ketchup, mustard, miracle whip, and I add salt to just about everything. I have felt the baby move the last couple days. Its been mostly in the evening. Once was after eating meatloaf. I think it was having a temper tantrum. The other time was listening to Miranda Lambert. I think it was fist pumping or line dancing. I have been totally exhausted. No motivation and no energy.
While at my appointment today, we discussed prozac. My last pregnancy I was told it was "safe". Well yes it's safe but then it can have side effects. After talking with Dr Lunt I decided to ween myself off of the medication. I don't feel comfortable putting my child at risk for anything. It's not getting a choice. I don't need the medication for depression or suicidal tendencies. I look at it as the best thing to do. Hearing that because I am taking the medication the NICU will need to be in the room at the time of the birth was really hard.  It will be a process and I am choosing to do it slowly. I will have the medication out of my system by the time the tiny human is removed.

Last Week of the First Trimester

This is my last week of the First Trimester. I can't complain. It did go by pretty fast. I was SO sick at the beginning and at night I still get a little sick. I must admit it is not nearly as bad as it could be. I have two lovely cold sores on my lips that broke out and my face is full of acne. I feel like I'm 15. Dang hormones. I have a bump - or pooch - that sticks out. I am already having to rubber band my pants and buying shirts with "more room". We have our second doctors appointment tomorrow!
