Springdale Birthday Weekend

FRIDAY:

Q had to work until 1 so I got the RV cleaned, packed and ready to roll. We got up to Springdale about 4. I gave Q an Annual pass to the national parks for his birthday. Q wanted to set up the ez up.... that was a funny experience.

Once we got things set up we went into town. We wanted to have dinner at our favorite place.... Casa de Amigos. We were so excited for chips and salsa and the carne asada. We had heard the chili rellenos were really good too so we tried one of them.... they were amazing.

Watching the sunset on the mountain was so awesome. It was beautiful. The colors are so vibrant. It's something that I wish everyone could see. Pictures just don't do it justice. The towering rocks are so majestic and breath taking. We walked around town and shoe shopped for the hiking we were going to do the next day. Then we decided to go to Wild Cat Willies for karaoke. Q got up and sang Every Rose Has Its Thorn. He did amazing and I love hearing him sing. We went back to the RV and watched 21 Jump Street.

SATURDAY:

We woke up and had breakfast. Then we went down to the Farmers Market. Jerone was playing acoustic. It was so beautiful.

We wore our new kicks that we had got her the night before.

We then hopped on the bus and headed into Zion. We rode the tram and listened to the narration of the park.

Our first stop was Weeping Rock. It had been years since either of us had been there. Weeping rock rains every day. The sandstone absorbs the moisture from the rain and snow fall. Once it reaches the slate level it is no longer absorbed. It pushes it's way out and becomes a natural spring. There is vegetation growing right out of the side of the rocks.

There was a beautiful view from the arch of Weeping Rock. There were several trees that formed natural arches.

There were stairs going down to a creek. We stopped and played in the water to cool off.

We got back on the bus and went to Big Bend. Again, we ended up in the river. It was so beautiful, so low, and so refreshing.

Our last hike was to the Narrows. We did the bottom up hike. There were squirrels all along the trail. I swore they were killer squirrels.

The most beautiful hike - Wall Street on the Narrows hike.

This was the view from from the tram on the way back to Springdale. You feel so tiny in the huge canyons.

We went back to the RV and ate a little lunch. It was about 4 pm. Then I was so tired. I needed a nap so badly. Q let me sleep for 3 hours. I guess I needed it. I was pretty dehydrated too. After I got up I and showered we rode into town for dinner at Amigos. After dinner we shot a couple games of pool in their back room. We went out and walked and Wild Cat Willies was having live music. So we stopped to see who it was....

How ironic that my bestie was up there when we were! We watched half of Mika's set with the Rockin' Horse Band. It was a blast. She was so funny and I could tell that she did not want to be there. It was still good to see her and love hearing her sing.

SUNDAY:

We got up and relaxed for the morning. It was breezy and we just chilled at the RV. It was wonderful. Then we packed up everything and drove into town and had lunch at Amigos. We stopped in Virgin and walked around the little shop there. Then it was home sweet home. It was a fabulous weekend!
